Workshop Breakdown (2.5 Hours) 0:00 – 0:15 | Welcome & Setting the Atmosphere Gentle music, tea greeting Participants choose their seat and tools Introduction to the philosophy: Ikebana as mindfulness Setting intentions: slowing down, seeing beauty, being present 0:15 – 0:40 | Ikebana 101 — Philosophy & Principles Short, clear introduction to the foundations: What makes Ikebana different from Western floral design The concept of Ma (negative space) Heaven–Earth–Human triad (Shin–Soe–Hikae) Line, balance, asymmetry, simplicity Respecting nature, flower selection, and meaning Visual demonstration:Instructor shows 1–2 simple examples to explain proportion, angle, rhythm, and movement. 0:40 – 1:15 | Demonstration: Creating a Basic Arrangement The instructor creates a full Ikebana arrangement in real time.
