About Omaha Mahjong Club
We help people learn and play culturally grounded Chinese Mahjong through welcoming instruction, open tables, and community in Omaha.
Why we gather
The original game. A growing Omaha community.
Chinese Mahjong has brought generations together through play. Omaha Mahjong Club carries that tradition forward with instruction that is accessible to beginners and grounded in the culture behind the tiles.
Founder Chen Huang came to the United States in 2008 and moved to Omaha with her family in 2024. The club grew from a simple need: to find friends, share Chinese heritage, and create meaningful connection around the table.
Today, the club welcomes first-time players and experienced hands alike through open play, lessons, tournaments, and community events.

From the founder
“Mahjong changed my life. It taught me that my greatest opponent isn't the person sitting across the table—it's me.”
