Welcome to Saturday Mahjong for Beginners, an intimate, two-hour Mahjong Lesson designed exclusively for newcomers. Unlike our regular open-play gatherings, where players learn as the game unfolds, this session gives you the time, attention, and relaxed environment to discover Mahjong at your own pace. No pressure to keep up, no worrying about making mistakes, and absolutely no prior experience required.

A More Personal Way to Learn Mahjong

Hosted in our charming historic parlor, this Saturday afternoon gathering brings together a small group of curious beginners who are all starting their Mahjong journey together.

We'll begin with a friendly introduction to the game, including the tiles, basic rules, and the fundamentals of how a Mahjong round works. Our instructor, Chen, will guide you through the essentials before you sit down at the table and start playing.

But here's what makes our approach different: we believe the best way to learn Mahjong is by actually playing it.

Your first round will be guided step by step, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and become familiar with the tiles and the rhythm of the game. As you move into your second round, you'll begin recognizing patterns, understanding your options, and making your own decisions. By the third round, most beginners find themselves much more comfortable, confident, and genuinely enjoying the game!

Our goal is simple: by the end of these two hours, everyone should have the opportunity to experience the fun of playing Mahjong!
