Kung Fu Tea Ceremony with Pu-erh, Tieguanyin, Golden Monkey & White Tea Welcome your guests to a tea experience that goes beyond tasting. Our signature Tea ceremony explores how Chinese tea reflects geography, craftsmanship, sensory awareness, and the art of slowing down.
The central idea is simple: Kung Fu tea is not about making tea quickly or showing off complicated techniques. It is about giving attention to each step so that tea can be experienced more fully.
1. What is Kung Fu tea? Kung Fu tea, more accurately called Gongfu Cha (工夫茶), is a Chinese method of preparing and appreciating tea using careful technique, relatively small brewing vessels, and multiple short infusions.
The term gongfu refers to skill developed through time, practice, and attention. The method is associated particularly with the tea cultures of Chaozhou and the Chaoshan region of Guangdong, as well as parts of Fujian and other Chinese tea-drinking communities.
The nature of Kung Fu tea - Attention: Observe the leaves, water, aroma, texture, and changing flavors. - Precision: Adjust the amount of tea, water temperature, and infusion time to suit each tea. - Repetition: Multiple infusions reveal how the tea evolves rather than presenting only one flavor. - Hospitality: Preparing and sharing tea creates a space for conversation and connection. - Presence: The ritual encourages people to pause, observe, and engage their senses.
